Dave Killins
General Manager
As General Manager of IDEAL Coatings, Dave is responsible for overseeing all facets of our services, ensuring high-quality standards, and maintaining safety across all projects. With dual Red Seal certifications as a Journeyman Pipefitter and Journeyman Carpenter, he brings a wealth of expertise to his role. Dave is committed to transparent communication, quality execution, and delivering projects on time and within budget. Having lived in Grande Prairie for over 20 years, Dave is deeply connected to the region. Outside of work, he enjoys the outdoors, spending his free time hunting, fishing, scuba diving, and riding his motorcycle during the summer.
Tom Kruskowski
Coatings Supervisor
At IDEAL Coatings, Tom oversees daily yard operations and manages client and vendor relationships. With over 15 years of experience in industrial coatings—and being an AMPP NACE Level 3 certified coating inspector—Tom's expertise in quality requirements and industry-leading application procedures drives productivity and customer satisfaction. Additionally, as a Level 1 CWB Welding Inspector, Tom brings valuable knowledge of pipeline construction to the team. Tom’s focus on safety, quality, and environmental responsibility reflects IDEAL’s commitment to our community and our clients. Outside of work, Tom enjoys carpentry, rock climbing, disc golf, and spending time with his family.
Andrew Coates
Coatings Coordinator
Andrew has over a decade of experience in the coating industry, starting his in the field before moving into a supervisory role. In 2018, Andrew earned his NACE Level 1 certification and shortly thereafter became an AMPP Certified Coating Inspector. Since joining IDEAL Andrew has been responsible for managing daily field operations. His extensive field experience and deep knowledge of coating equipment have made him a valuable member of the team. Outside of work, Andrew enjoys outdoor activities such as hunting, fishing, and camping.
Julie Arnold
Coatings Coordinator
With a decade of experience in the coating industry, Julie oversees all aspects of IDEAL’s coating services. Her role includes scheduling, planning, crew management, and significant involvement in estimating. Julie ensures projects run smoothly from start to finish, meeting deadlines, staying within budget, and maintaining customer satisfaction. Her genuine care for our workforce promotes an excellent working environment and operational efficiency, which she believes is essential to success. Raised in Grande Prairie, Julie brings 30 years of combined oilfield and pipeline expertise, which contributes to her deep understanding of the local industry.
Marcus Edwards
Coatings Coordinator
Marcus brings extensive knowledge and expertise to his role as Coatings Coordinator. Marcus has advanced to this leadership position by leveraging his experience in coating technologies and process optimization. His focus on operational efficiency, high-quality standards, and innovative solutions has been instrumental in helping IDEAL achieve our goals. Marcus is also deeply committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of our team. Outside of work, Marcus enjoys vacationing with his wife and two children, along with spending time outdoors.
